Tears on the Camino
Before I walked the Camino in 2018 I had no idea just how mind blowing it would be, how memories good and bad came so vividly to mind. People I hadn’t thought about for years were crystal clear as though standing in front of me. Memories of loved ones no longer here filled my senses and tears flowed as never before. At Cruz de Ferro when I lay my burden down was one of the most emotional experiences of my life.
I was not prepared to be confronted by the memories of those I hadn’t treated so well in life. Sometime theses episodes on the Camino were difficult to take in but without doubt liberated my mind and made me see then in a different light and think differently about them.
Even the stunning landscape was enough to make one cry at it sheer beauty.
Yes tears came at times when I least expected then. One thing I learned on the Camino was that tears can cleanse your soul.

The path gives two types of experiences.
It is first a personal experience that can be described with a few questions: what do I want tomorrow and generally make my life, my priorities, my way of seeing and approaching things And people, trying to know who I am beyond my emotions and my first thoughts. What is this deep feeling that inhabits us and what name to give it.
It is then the shorter or longer meetings, more or less deep, with an exchange of more or less personal topics.
These two experiences lead to reflections, ideas and thoughts that can crystallize at one time into a sentence that sums up these ideas well and that I will keep as a memory.
Of course, there are also the quotations found along the way and those that are emphasized in the books that one reads when one enters and that one wants to deepen certain subjects.
